Claire is a principal of the firm. She is a member of the California State Bar and a Certified Specialist in Immigration & Nationality Law (State Bar of California Board of Legal Specialization). She is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, and is registered to practice before all U.S. Immigration Courts and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
Claire practices in all areas of U.S. immigration law, primarily focusing on leading the firm’s L-1 and J-1 practice. An active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA)’s Northern California Chapter, Claire currently serves as an elected Board member (Vice Chair) and Co-Liaison to USCIS’s San Francisco Field Office. She previously served on the Advisory Council for many years. Claire has received numerous AILA Pro Bono awards and was named the Bar Association of San Francisco’s (BASF) Barrister of the Year in 2010. Claire is a member of the Barristers Immigration Section for BASF and served as Co-Chair from 2010-2013. She has been selected for inclusion as a Rising Star in the Northern California Super Lawyers® since 2015. Only 2.5% of the lawyers in California are selected for this recognition each year. Claire has also served as a volunteer attorney for ProBAR, a national joint project of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Texas, and AILA to provide pro bono legal services to asylum seekers detained in South Texas by the United States government.
Prior to joining the firm, Claire was selected for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Attorney General Honors Program, serving as Attorney Advisor to the San Francisco Immigration Court (EOIR). While earning her J.D. at Golden Gate University School of Law, she was Managing Editor of the Law Review’s three journals and published a case note. As an undergraduate at the University of Washington, she studied Political Science and was Co-Captain of the UW Sailing Team. She continues to enjoy sailboat racing in the V15 fleet at the Treasure Island Sailing Center.
